Congratulations to my school!

US News and World Report just published a rating of high school based on how their students did on AP math and science exams. Our school, Raleigh Charter High School, placed 11th in the country.

Congratulations to all the students who have taken these tests and a special congratulations to the math and science departments who work diligently with the students to help them master this material. Though I have nothing to do with all of this, I'm very proud of how dedicated these teachers are and how hard-working the students are.

Now, I wish the US News would do the same for history exams...

Congratulations! And I couldn't agree with you more about the need to give more emphasis on teaching history.

Notice how few of the schools are open admission versus application and notice how few of the schools are in the Midwest. If the U.S. wanted to increase STEM education, the lowest hanging fruit can be found in the midwest and rocky mountain states.

However, the U.S. will spend all of its money and energy trying to improve the educational performance of inner-city students on both coasts.
