"That will hurt people who have cancer and kids who are trying to get Pell grants to go to college. We really have to remember, we're not just spending on, you know, big government bloated programs, the spending we appropriate helps real people."That's the level of demagoguery that the Democrats are sending out there. By those criteria no cuts are possible. There is always someone who benefits from some government spending. And Democrats can always trot out some poor unfortunate who will be losing something important to him or her if we cut the government spending. If we're going to be throwing cancer into the accusations whenever someone talks about cutting the level of spending, we'll never get any cuts made.
Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz has signaled that the Democrats aren't serious about cutting spending; they're serious only about their demagoguery.
