Freedom of the press in Jay Rockefeller's mind

RCP has the video of Senator Rockefeller's deepest desires when it comes to freedom of the press.
SEN. JAY ROCKEFELLER (D-WV): "There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to FOX and to MSNBC: 'Out. Off. End. Goodbye.' It would be a big favor to political discourse; our ability to do our work here in Congress, and to the American people, to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and more importantly, in their future."
Does the man not know the Constitution or does it just seem an inconvenience to him in his vision of how our enlightened rulers should proceed? Does he know the history of the press in our country's history? Nothing being said today compares to the partisan sniping during the press of the 1790s or during the Civil War. Perhaps rising to prominence based on the fortunes earned by an ancestor whom the senator would be doing everything to condemn and stifle if John D. were in action today has stunted Jay Rockefeller's sense of the Constitution and history.

I'm impressed that members of Congress have found time to deal with such important matters as cable program options when they are otherwise so burdened with the responsibility of dealing with steroids in baseball, etc.

If Rockefeller were from just about any other state, a moronic display such as that, would have serious consequences for his reelection but in West Virginia, you only need a pulse to get reelected. TERM LIMITS!

This is just another example of why term limits are a good idea.

Jay Rockefeller's comments are likely connected Glen Becks exposure of George Soros' machinations as he spends his billions to promote the Marxist World Governance agenda shared by Rockefeller. They already didn't like FOX but I believe Beck has lifting the rocks causing the vermin to squirm as their plans are prematurely exposed. Soros and Rockefeller have a lot of money to spend so we can expect an increasing cacophony of voices demanding that Fox be taken down.

Our betters who are born to rule know better than us what is good for us, the unwashed, the unsophisticated.

"have some faith in their government and more importantly, in their future."

Unbeknownst to Lord Jay, the reason Americans lost faith in their future was because a whole lot of misguided Americans have put their faith in the govt infested with condescending creeps like him.

That "little bug inside" of Sen. Rockefeller - totalitarianus tyrannus - lives inside many in the governing class. It abhors sunlight.

Gee Jay, I have plenty of faith in the future and the American people. What I don't have faith in is the government because it's populated with people like you who say and think things like you just said. Things would improve if supercilious elitists like you and Obama would go back to private life. Think about it this way: Fox News and MSNBC can't make me watch; they can't raise my taxes or put me in jail for anything I did or didn't do. Only people like YOU can do that. Who should I be more wary of?

Of course Rockefeller knows the Constitution. The question is do the people know their Constitution? Rockefeller, Obama, Soros, and all the progressives see it as an obstacle to their agenda. To them, free speech and freedom of the press mean nothing, and they would prefer it out of the way. If the people don't fight to protect their freedoms, they will be stolen away.

"'Out. Off. End. Goodbye.'"

Pretty much my thoughts on congress.
