Aww... Lindsay Graham's friends don't want to play with him

Lindsay Graham prides himself on his ability to reach across the aisle and make deals with the Democrats. He envisions himself as a southern-fried version of John McCain. So he's trying now to recreate his glory days from the Gang of 14 to create a group that would vow not to use reconciliation to pass health care. In those days he was able to find seven Democratic senators who were willing to reach a compromise to stop the Republicans from using the so-called nuclear option to force Bush's Senate nominations to the floor and avoid a filibuster.

But now, he's finding out that his former friends don't want to play in the sandbox with him anymore. Stopping a Republican nuclear option was fine, but stopping a Democratic nuclear option - not so much.

And Democrats who loved McCain when he was trashing Bush's plans are now running ads against him in AZ as he tries to fend off former Rep. J. D. Hayworth's challenge. The term "schadenfreude" sneaks into my head for both these guys' problems.

Anyone with even a modicum of common sense can see that John McCain & Lindsey Graham are Democrat Party "useful idiots."
