When will it be time to throw Pelosi under the bus

IBD says it's the biggest public lie from a politician since Bill Clinton wagged his finger at us. I don't know if it falls in that category, but it's clear that Nancy Pelosi has been lying about what she was briefed on concerning enhanced interrogation techniques. She has been lying to her caucus and to the public while calling for the heads of all the Republican officials involved. It sounds like Representative Pete Hoekstra, who has seen the CIA memos concerning what congressmen were told, sounds like he knows that he has Pelosi in his sights and is ready to pull the trigge that will expose her lies even more publicly.
GOP Rep. Pete Hoekstra is upping the stakes of the torture fight in response to Nancy Pelosi’s claims that she wasn’t briefed on the use of waterboarding.

His office tells me that he’s seen documents that will prove this isn’t true.

Hoekstra spokesperson Jamal Ware says that Hoekstra is now seeking the release of the memos and notes that comprised the basis of the documents that came out today that claimed Dems had been briefed on enhanced interrogation techniques.

“He has seen documents that would clarify exactly what the Speaker was briefed on,” Ware tells me, “including whether she was briefed on all enhanced interrogation techniques that had been used.”

Asked if those techniques included waterboarding, Ware replied: “Yes.”
Do her minions in the Democratic caucus appreciate being lied to by their leader? Or will they just smile and pretend to believe her convoluted prevaricating about what she knew and when she knew it? I wonder if there aren't some Democrats in the House who would be happy to see her brought low, Steny Hoyer perhaps? Jane Harman must be chuckling a bit. Nancy didn't get where she is today without trampling on a few toes.

Now that she's been exposed, I guess it's about time for the President to come out and nobly call for all the partisan fingerpointing to end and for us to turn to the future. It's no fun if any but Republicans are going to be skewered.

It's truly amazing- Pelosi was caught red-handed… and she’s STILL lying.

Of course, she had no objection to the use of EITs for almost 5 years- until she was Speaker in 2007 and the antiwar left raised it as an issue. Suddenly she’s against it, and/or “knew nothing”. And obviously willing to lie to the whole country to create a more favorable reality.

Apparently Obama and Pelosi forgot something: the CIA kills people… it’s in their job description. Did they really think these killers were going to meekly take one for the team… when the team captain is a lying, incompetent, arrogant nebbish with no real-world experience and who told them they need to kiss his ring? - please

Pelosi is a no-talent hack who’s made a lot of enemies. Going to be hard to BS her way out of this one- her approval rating was like 9% before this story even broke.

What I wonder is how much the "swing voters" are aware of Pelosi's corruption?
I suppose this depends on how much the Main Stream Media covers the story. Since I don't use the MSM media anymore I really don't have a feel for their coverage on this issue.

Or will they just smile and pretend to believe her convoluted prevaricating about what she knew and when she knew it?Bingo.

In forums like this, they'll be silent on the issue - like it ne-e-e-ver happened. I've come to believe that, for our liberal friends here, lying is just fine and dandy as long as it's for the right cause. As for there foes, they'll continue to redefine what a "lie" is (or else remove any need for evidence) so that they can continue to accuse them of lying regarding facts they find inconvenient. Tu quoque.

I really doubt anything will come of this for Pelosi for the same reasons it has taken this long for the media to even begin to sniff around about "who knew what and when".

The simple truth: Now that the only war they have been fighting is over and the White House is in their hands, Democrats will increasingly complain that these attacks against Speaker Pelosi, et al, will undermine the "Overseas Contingency Plan", or whatever the hell they want to call the actual war we've been fighting and winning in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other wonderful places.

I'd be happy to have Pelosi taken down by this. Of course she's lying. Worse, she let an unpopular, failed president run all over her for two years. Not sure where R3 got his 9% approval rating, but that would certainly indicate she's vulnerable.

When will it be time to throw Pelosi under the buson the day that the previous vice president insulted and threw under a bus his secretary of state and a former head of the joint chiefs of staff of the united states of america, so that he could favor a clownish radio bloviator, you guys need to get your heads out of the trivia that nobody else even notices

it's truly pitiable what is happening to your once great party

But of course it makes sense that Cheney would betray a dedicated soldier in favor of Rush. They both passed on the opportunity to serve their country when called upon, yet never tire of talking tough (as long as others are making the sacrifice.) Both seem to be hoping for America to fail to vindicate their own failures. As they continue to betray our country, each will continue to feed off the another.

Do you mean the former/maybe Republican that endorsed Obama in the last election? But then again Limbaugh probably didn't receive the same briefings on the interrogations as Speaker Pelosi or Sec Powell did so by all means complain about Limbaugh. Maybe Limbaugh can recommend a good criminal lawyer for Sec Powell as he'll probably need it.

Before leftists begin throwing stones from inside their glass house about "clownish...bloviators...", they'd better remember that it currently looks like the "clownish radio and television bloviator" Al Franken will be joining their own sideshow.

As for the inevitable tumble down the "chicken hawk" argument path "mark" takes, shall we remember it was that supreme "chicken hawk" who not only never served, but put in writing that he "loathed the military" and after gaining the presidency had no problem ordering American troops all over the globe to perform 'meals on wheels' missions?

Quite a few Americans hope Obama fails in his efforts to turn the country into the socialistic paradise he seems to want to create, but that doesn't mean they hope "America...fail[s]. On the contrary, they see America winning when Obama's policies fail.

mark,

Running with the old "Petraeus Betrayus" line?

Undercutting the efforts and sacrifice of troops in the field with "the war is lost" ala Pelosi, Reid, Murtha and Durbin, now that is betrayal. Running an infantile full page attack piece in the NYT funded by billionaire George Soros' Move-on.org to besmerch their CG, that's just petty and I suppose that's why we see you generously making use of the same line of attack.
