The Obama administration at Durban

Before the elections many Israelis feared that Obama would be much less supportive of Israel than Bush had been. One month into his administration, it's clear that those fears were justified. Anne Bayefsky demonstrates that, despite self-promoting State Department press releases, the American representatives at Durban sat silent while anti-Israeli provisions were slipped into the final document.
The reality, however, was nothing of the sort. Instead, Obama's Durban II team slipped easily into the U.N.'s anti-Israel and anti-Jewish environs, taking the approach that "fitting in" was best accomplished by staying silent.

The Black Liberation Theology espoused by Rev. Wright at Obama's church is laced with anti-Semitism. What happens behind the scenes in Obama's administration is likely to have more sinister implications for the nation's future than what makes the headlines. Many unnamed advisors we know nothing about are downright dangerous, a la Bill Ayres. Others in the foreground are merely useful idiots.

They also sat silently, offering no argument, when Iran objected to the inclusion anti-Holocaust denial language in the agenda. Obama's team objected or voiced opinions on other matters, so it doesn't hold that they were just "listening" or "gathering information." This administration is a smiling beast that needs to be watched constantly.
