Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry.I hope this is a joke, but somehow the way the demands from every group out there to get some free federal money have been pouring in, it doesn't seem all that unlikely.
“The take here is that everyone and their mother want to be bailed out from the banks to the big three,” said Owen Moogan, spokesman for Larry Flynt. “The porn industry has been hurt by the downturn like everyone else and they are going to ask for the $5 billion. Is it the most serious thing in the world? Is it going to make the lives of Americans better if it happens? It is not for them to determine.”
Francis said in a statement that “the US government should actively support the adult industry's survival and growth, just as it feels the need to support any other industry cherished by the American people."

Hey, why not bail out everyone?
Since every other group from newspapers to universities is lobbying to get a piece of whatever federal bailout the Obama administration comes up with, why not bail out the porn industry? Apparently, they need a hand out also.

Flynt is a big Democrat backer so why not expect a bailout from the new Democrat Congress and Obama?
Auto workers get paid for laying down on the job - why not sex workers?
Well, The Mustang Ranch is in Nevada and Sen. Reid represents Nevada.
Francis and Flynt will be waiting a long time for Rep. Waxman to respond to their letter - because their names and address were withheld.
Moreover, I would like to see this headline when their bailout money is refused:
Porn Biz Goes Tits Up.
(I hope that you'll make a moderation exception for this death pun.)

Word I never thought I would see in the same article, "porn industry" and "cherished."
