Whether Obama can govern in that mode is still doubtful, especially when you add in the Democratic majorities in the Congress and the other parts of Obama's platform that included massive new spending and government programs.
It is a sign of how far the GOP has evolved away from Reagan's message that they lost the tax and spending issue to the Democrats. Until they can readjust, they will continue in the wilderness.

There is a better chance of The New York Times endorsing a conservative than there is of Obama cutting taxes. He will do to the US what Grantholm did to Michigan. We are Venezuela to the 10th power. Get used to it.

Unfortunately, I don't think you are correct. Obama and the Dems will bail out GM and the others to protect the overpaid jobs of their union buddies.
In addition, they will get rid of the secret ballot with Card Check legislation which will allow the unions to bully themselves into more workplaces. Which will force more unwilling money into union coffers for political activities even though unions are supposed to refund that money (and haven't been doing so) to union members who want it back.
There will be tax raises for the people who pay those you're giving cuts to. Therefore if the socialist illuminati take from the company, and the company pays the employees, they're paying twice, and will have to go out of business.
Don't hold your breath for a tax cut people. Haven't you heard, Obama and his liberal illuminati team have now changed to: people living in poverty and who are unemployed and haven’t worked in 10 years, are just going to be given all the money the rest of us make! Did you miss that article?
