The Obamas should make up their minds if they're for or against exploiting their children
Remember all those regrets that Obama had about letting the media interview his daughters after the Access Hollywood interview. Well, I guess those regrets are now nonoperative. They now have allowed the girls to be the subject of a cover story on People Magazine. Their parents and grandmother contribute their comments on the girls.
The Obamas rarely allow their daughters to be interviewed. After the television show "Access Hollywood" aired a report on the Obama children earlier this month, their father expressed regret for having agreed to it. "I don't think it's healthy and it's something that we'll be avoiding in the future," he later said.
The cover story appears in People Magazine's latest issue, on newsstands Friday.
Do you honestly believe that People would be running a cover story which I'm sure will have some cute pictures of them along with the parent quotes without Michelle and Barack's cooperation? If he keeps opening up the door of media exposure on his kids, how is he then going to be able to slam it shut and tell reporters that the kids are off limits? I guess he'll just try the same thing that he tries with his wife when he sends her out as a surrogate to give speeches and then gets upset that people criticize what she says in those speeches.
He might be more successful on having his cake and eating it too on media coverage of his children because the media will be much more hesitant on anything intrusive about the little girls. But please skip this treacle on how much you're trying to protect them from the campaign all the while you're out there using them to get plenty of soft publicity.
I guess the Obama daughters are the only subject that could knock Brad and Angelina's babies off the cover.
