What does he think it's going to be like to be president?

Michelle Obama tells us that Barack Obama has just had it. He's sick of running against Hillary Clinton and wants to run against McCain. He's sick of the personal attacks on his character.

Well, what does he think that he is signing up for in running for president? Does he truly imagine that, in this day of 24-hours cable news and the internet that he'd get the same sort of idolatrous treatment that he got last year when he became president and people start looking for him to work his magic on all sorts of policies? Sure, there will be all sorts of morning-show type coverage of what it's like to have a young family in the White House and how their style is so different from previous presidents. But eventually there will be policy choices and nominations he'll have to make and then the attacks will start. No politician walks away from the presidency with the reputation he had going in. If he wants to be the man in the arena, he better start toughening up. No complaints from his wife are going to make it any smoother for him.
