A moment like this is enough to make me feel a lot fonder of Fred Thompson than I'd been feeling.

Finally someone pushes back at the idiocy of how these debates have been conducted. The raising of hands on a complex issue is one of the most irritating developments this year. I do believe we have Chris Matthews to thank for starting this trend.

If Fred Thompson had shown this sort of spunk more during his campaign, he would have justified all the hopes of those who thought he was going to be the great conservative hope of the primaries.
