Suspicions in Alaska

Senator Ted Stevens' home in Girdwood, Alaska was searched yesterday by the FBI in a probe of whether he received bribes from VECO Corp., Alaska's largest oil-field engineering firm. There are also some suspicions about Alaska's other senator Lisa Murkowski and congressman, Don Young. While we need to wait for the FBI to complete their investigation, the details about Stevens' renovation of his home sounds a mite bit fishy. If he is guilty, throw the book at him. And that's not just because he's one of my least favorite Republican senators. These guys all know what they should and should not do and, if they still think they're above the law, they deserve to find out that they must obey the laws and accept the penalties for their malefactions.
