New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who became an independent last week, showed his non-partisan colors Wednesday by criticizing both political parties.Oh, Michael Bloomberg of the deeply held beliefs. This is a guy who was a lifetime Democrat but switched to being a Republican because he couldn't get elected mayor as a Democrat. After getting GOP help to getting elected, he proceeded to go his own way as mayor. Now that he wants to be president, but can't get the nomination in either party, he's left his temporary home in the Republican party to be an independent to run for president. He has shown a certain...er...flexibility in his own ideological identification and now he has the nerve to say that the parties don't stand for anything.
Bloomberg, who left the GOP and is asked almost daily about running for president, said Wednesday that neither the Republican nor Democratic Party "stands for anything."
"There isn't any philosophy" for either party, he said after a speech on improving public schools.
Can you say projection? I knew you could.
