Canadians, stop spanking your children

The Canadian UNICEF President is recommending criminalizing spanking.
Canadian parents should not be allowed to spank their kids.

That's the view of UNICEF Canada President Nigel Fisher.

He says the Criminal Code should be amended to bar spanking, saying no violence should be allowed against children.

He was attending a forum in Vancouver where UNICEF International released a new report on violence against children around the world.
Yes, like most of the violence against children around the world is caused by parental spanking. Has he ever heard of Darfur?

I'm sure that Canada has laws against child abuse. That should be enough. Do they really want to have even more of a nanny state telling them how to raise their children?
