A couple of weeks ago, Harper Collins announced that they had digitally removed the cigarette from illustrator, Clement Hurd's hand in the newest edition of the classic, Goodnight Moon. This example of political correctness was rightly ridiculed by most who heard of it. Now, one author has some semi-humorous suggestions of what other digital corrections Harper Collins might need to make.

When you think of it, children's literature is full of all sorts of situations that wouldn't conform to anyone's idea of safety and good health. Wait until the digital editors get started on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland! What message is there to little kids about a girl who runs down a hole, eats and drinks substances just because there was a sign telling her to do so?
