News outlets are reporting that Bush is going to announce that Harriet Miers is the nominee at 8:00. If true, this will be a big disappointment to many, many conservative supporters of the President. Compared to some of the names that have been mentioned, she is not of that caliber.

I just hope that these sources are just as knowledgeable as those who touted the nomination of Edith Joy Clement. If Bush were going to do a head fake, it would make more sense for the name mentioned to be one of his inner circle who might have agreed to be the sacrificial leak. Personally, I don't see the need for a head fake, but I'm hoping that Miers is the fake leak now.
