Jim Lindgren has some polling information of where Americans stand when asked if they favor or oppose laws requiring a married woman to inform her husband before she has an abortion. The polls show overwhelming support for such a restriction on the right to abortion ranging mostly from the high 60s to 70s in support. Do the Democrats really want to stake their opposition to Alito on opposing a father's reproductive rights, especially when it becomes clear that the Pennsylvania law that Alito voted to uphold allowed for exemptions for women who feared violence when informing their husbands of their pregnancies?
