Dana Milbank captures some of the bizarre atmosphere in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Yesterday, as they issued staements on how they would vote on Judge Roberts, Orrin Hatch pulled out a camera and took pictures of everyone. Lindsay Graham was practically falling asleep. And Senator Brownback brought in a girl with Down Syndrome to use as a prop in his words against abortion. I find that rather distasteful and, at least Orrin Hatch had the good sense not to take a picture of that.
